Roero Arneis Lodali 2023 is a real breath of fresh air in the glass! With its bright straw yellow colour, it's a real eye-catcher. On the nose, a vibrant bouquet of white flowers, juicy pear and a touch of citrus. On the palate, it's a festival of freshness, with a silky texture underpinned by liveliness and subtle minerality. The fruity and saline notes combine perfectly to produce a delicious, thirst-quenching finish. A real nugget, waiting to be discovered!

Technique

Viticulture

Founded in 1939, just as the Second World War was beginning, this family estate is literally being reborn, under the leadership of Walter Lodali and his mother, the sparkling Rita. The grapes for this cuvée come exclusively from the Pocapaglia and Canale vineyards, harvested by hand in small crates.

Oenology

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at 17°C for around 20 days, followed by ageing in stainless steel and 2 months in the bottle.

Suggestions for accompaniment

Tartar of sea bream with citrus fruit and fresh herbs - Risotto with asparagus and parmesan - Fennel, orange and grilled almond salad

The Lodali estate, run by Walter Lodali since 2005, embodies the excellence of Langhe wines. His charisma and passion for wine are reflected in vintages of great precision and remarkable finesse, carefully crafted to sublimate the region's unique terroir.

Barolo and Barbaresco are the jewels of the domain, but the other varietal cuvées are also distinguished by their balance and purity. The winery's philosophy is based on minimal intervention in the winemaking process, allowing the grapes and terroir to express themselves fully, an approach reminiscent of great estates such as Azienda Comm. GB Burlotto.

It was thanks to our friend Gianni Fabrizio (director of the Gambero Rosso guide) that we met Walter... and it was love at first sight.
