Characteristics
The Habitation Bellevue, JM's stronghold, is located in the commune of Macouba, in the north-east of Martinique, at the foot of the Montagne Pelée between the Rivière Roches and the Rivière de Macouba. Today, the Héritiers Crassous de Médeuil exploit the 3 main agricultural crops of Martinique: banana, pineapple and sugar cane. The presence of these 3 crops as well as the distillery on the same farm is unique in Martinique and in the Caribbean.
Oenology
Carefully selected, the sugar cane grown on the plateaux of Habitation Bellevue is used exclusively for the production of JM Rum. The distillation of the juice from these canes gives rise to a white agricultural rum. A part of it is aged in barrels stored in the nearby cellars of the Rum Factory. The estate's vintages are absolute peaks.
