Definition: White Zinfandel

Back
White Zinfandel was first created in California in 1972. It was Bob Trinchero at Sutter Home Winery who first had the idea of making rosé wine from the black Zinfandel grape, which had been underestimated until then. It was so successful with Americans who were just discovering white wine that impressive quantities of White Zinfandel, the most important red grape variety typical of California, were produced.
