Definition: Vegetative cloning

The process of cultivating multiple plants from a parent vine (clone head) that has been carefully selected for its vegetative, production, health and organoleptic qualities. In estates concerned with quality, the traditional technique of mass selection (from several parent vines) still yields the best results.
