Definition: State of emptiness

For aged bottles of blended red wines, observe the level of the wine: if it is high in the neck, halfway up the neck, low in the neck, high on the shoulder, or halfway up the shoulder; for more delicate Burgundy wines, this can be checked in millimetres.

Below this lower level, the bottle loses much of its value. Furthermore, a single bottle does not have the same value as a full case.

Just as a case of twelve bottles (75 cl) does not have the same value as a case of 6 magnums or 3 double magnums.
