Definition: Sorting mat

Back

A conveyor belt used to sort the grape harvest. This equipment is almost indispensable for the production of quality wines. Although an initial sorting is carried out in the vineyard by the grape picker, passing the harvest over the sorting belt at the entrance to the press allows for a more thorough selection of the grapes, removing any foreign elements and retaining only those that are perfectly ripe and healthy.
