Côte de Nuits region in Burgundy. Production area located to the north near Nuits-Saint-Georges, more precisely within plots in the commune of Vosne-Romanée in the Côte-d'Or department. Classified as an AOC Grand Cru in 1936. Area under production: 83 a 45 ca, the smallest appellation in France, and the most renowned. Vinified exclusively as red wine. Grey grape varieties: Pinot Beurot; black grape varieties: Pinot and Pinot Liébault. The incorporation of white and grey grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinots into the vineyards is permitted, provided that they do not exceed 15%. It can be kept for a very long time, from 10 to 30 years. Ideal serving temperature: between 17 and 18°C. Best enjoyed with: preferably game.
