In French-speaking Switzerland, this is the name given to redcurrants (Ribes rubrum); they are also known as raisins de mars. In French-speaking Switzerland, gooseberries (Ribes uva crispi) are called groseilles. Although they look very different, redcurrants, gooseberries and blackcurrants all belong to the same botanical genus: Ribes.
