Back This port, from a single year indicated on the label, is aged for four to six years in casks before bottling (late bottling). It is therefore lighter than a true Vintage, but unlike the latter, it will keep for several weeks after opening the bottle. It should only be decanted if it has been stored in a cellar for at least two or three years. Although LBV does not reach the stature of a classic vintage, it is nevertheless a superbly rich, fruity and round port of remarkable quality at an attractive price. See Late bottled vintage.
