Corsica region. Production area located west of Bastia, facing the Gulf of Saint-Florent, more precisely within the municipalities of Barbaggio, Farinolo, Oletta, Patrimonio, Poggio d'Oletta, Saint-Florent and Santo-Pietro-di-Tenda, in the department of Haute-Corse. Classified as an AOC in 1984. Area under production: just over 405 hectares. White grape varieties: Vermentino, the only variety used for the production of white wines. It is also used in the production of rosé and red wines as an accessory variety; Black grape varieties: Nielluccio for at least 90% of red wine production and at least 75% of rosé wine production; Grenache and Sciaccarello as secondary varieties for rosé and red wine production. Vinified as: white, rosé and red. Can be stored for: 2 to 3 years for whites and rosés; 3 to 5 years for reds. Ideal serving temperature: between 8 and 10°C for whites and rosés; between 15 and 16°C for reds. Pairings: white wines with grilled or cooked fish; rosés with Corsican charcuterie; reds with cooked white meat.
