Its name comes from Nebuchadnezzar II (605-561 BC), son of Nabopolassar, who was one of the most famous kings of Babylon. A great builder, Nebuchadnezzar set about embellishing Babylon, endowing it with beautiful walls and hanging gardens famous throughout the ancient world.
Unfortunately, this Wonder no longer exists today and only its foundations remain. Even the veracity of its existence is in doubt: The Hanging Gardens of Babylon: Myth or reality?
