Haut-Pays region. Production area located on both sides of the Garonne River, within 27 municipalities in the Lot-et-Garonne department. Classified as an AOC in 1990. Area under production: just over 1,460 hectares. White grape varieties: Sauvignon, Muscadelle, Sémillon and Ugni; black grape varieties: Abouriou, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fer Servadou, Gamay, Merlot and Syrah. Produced as: white, rosé and mainly red. Can be kept for: 1 to 3 years for white and rosé; 3 to 5 years for red. Ideal serving temperature: between 8 and 10°C for whites and rosés; between 16 and 17°C for reds. Pairings: white wines with grilled fish; rosés with charcuterie, grilled meats with or without raw vegetables; red wines with grilled red meat.
