Grape marc spirit must have a volatile substance content of at least 1.4 g per litre of pure alcohol.
The quantity of lees added must not exceed 25 kg per 100 kg of grape must. The proportion of alcohol derived from the lees must not exceed 35% of the total alcohol content of the finished product.
Grappa is a grape marc spirit produced in Italy, in the canton of Ticino, in Val Calanca, Val Bregaglia, Val Mesolcina or Valle di Poschiavo, from grapes grown in the regions concerned.
