Definition: Mannite

In oenology, a sweet-sour character corresponding to the presence of acids, especially acetic acids, and mannitol (or mannitol), which has a sweet flavour. Mannitol is an organic substance with six sweet-tasting alcohol functions, found in ash tree manna.
