Publication of the appellation decree. The production conditions for the "Malepère" controlled designation of origin were defined by a decree dated 2 May 2007, published in the Official Journal on 4 May.

The appellation area, reserved for still red and rosé wines, covers 39 municipalities in the department of Aude: Alaigne, Alairac, Arzens, Bellegarde-du-Razès, Belvèze-du-Razès, Brézilhac, Brugairolles, Cailhau, Cailhavel, Cambieure, Carcassonne, La Cassaigne, Caux-et-Sauzens, Couffoulens, La Courtète, Donazac, Fanjeaux, Fenouillet-du-Razès, Ferran, Gramazie, La Force, Hounoux, Lasserre-de-Prouille, Laurac, Lauraguel, Lavalette, Malviès, Mazerolles-du-Razès, Montclar, Montgradail, Montréal, Preixan, Roullens, Routier, Saint-Martin-de-Villereglan, Villarzel-du-Razès, Villeneuve-lès-Montréal, Villesèquelande and Villesiscle.

The wines are produced exclusively from vineyards located within the production area approved by the INAO on 8 and 9 November 2006. Information about the appellation can be found on the official website:
