Back Without waiting, the "carreur", the third glassblower, takes the cane. If the size of the piece requires it, he proceeds to a second picking, covering the first parison. Before blowing, he "taps" the glass to distribute the paste evenly around the glass mass and centre it again. He sits on the bench, the glassmaker's workbench, made of a board supported by two arms, the "bradelles", between which he sits. He then places the rod horizontally on the bradelles and rolls it with his left hand while holding a wet wooden or metal mould resembling a ladle, the "mailloche", in the palm of his other hand, in the hollow of which the molten glass is turned. See glass blowing, glass, blowing, shaping.
