The width of the corks is always 24 mm. The height varies between 38 mm for the smallest corks and 49 mm for wines intended for ageing, such as Bordeaux. In Italy, however, some producers use corks that are 54 mm high. For a rare fine wine, one owner requires 60 mm corks.
