Côte-de-Nuits region in Burgundy. Production area located roughly halfway between Dijon and Nuits-Saint-Georges, more precisely within plots in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte-d'Or department. Classified as an AOC Grand Cru in 1937. Area under production: just under 8 hectares, entirely surrounded by a wall. Grey grape varieties: Pinot Beurot; black grape varieties: Pinot Noir and Pinot Liébault. The incorporation of a certain number of white and grey grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinots into vineyards intended for the production of red wines is still authorised, provided that they do not exceed 15%. Vinified exclusively as red wine. It can be kept for a very long time, from 6 to 20 years. Ideal serving temperature: between 16 and 17°C. Best enjoyed with: preferably game.
