Back Libournais region. Production area located about 40 kilometres east of Bordeaux, on the east side of Libourne, more precisely within the municipalities of Lalande-de-Pomerol and Néac in the Gironde department. Classified as a communal AOC in 1936. Area under production: nearly 1,100 hectares. Black grape varieties: Cabernet Franc (or Bouchet), Cabernet Sauvignon, Côt (or Pressac or Malbec), and mainly Merlot. Vinified as red wine only. It can be stored for a very long time, several decades. Ideal serving temperature: between 14 and 15°C. Pair with: red meat, preferably accompanied by mushrooms.
