Definition: Interprofession de la Vigne et du Vin du Valais (IVV)

Role and objectives: The IVV aims to defend the general interests of the Valais wine industry. Description: The Valais Wine Industry Association was founded in December 2000. Its three main tasks are:

Economy/Quality/Promotion.

To take a position on all legislative, regulatory and administrative issues affecting the Valais wine industry;

Liaising between the wine industry, the authorities and professional organisations;

Encouraging collaboration between stakeholders in the sector;

Ensuring the sustainability of the vineyards and their environmental functions;

Promote the vineyards and wines of Valais;

Safeguard the quality and authenticity of Valais vineyard products and promote their sale;

Define qualitative and quantitative production standards in relation to Valais wine appellations;

Compile statistical data on the production and marketing of Valais vineyard products;

Define the strategy and rules for adapting production and supply to market requirements; determine the reference elements for calculating indicative prices.

The members of the IVV are:

2. The Federation of Valais Wine Producers' Cellars (PROVINS Valais)

3. The Oberwalliser Weinbauverband (OWV)

4. The Union of Winegrowers and Cellar Masters of Valais (UVEV)

5. The Valais Nurserymen and Winegrowers' Society

6. The Society of Wine Cellar Owners of Valais (SEVV)
