Definition: Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux

Back
In the Middle Ages, when important decisions had to be made, the opinions of notables and wise men were sought. The Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux is a revival of this ancient practice and brings together men who are keen to participate in the development and recognition of Bordeaux wine. The Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux was created in 1952 on the initiative of Henri Martin, then President of the Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB). The Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux brings together and unites the Bordeaux Wine Academy and all the Bordeaux wine brotherhoods. Thanks to the calibre of its members, the Grand Conseil carries out various activities at national and international level.
