This early-ripening grape variety is best suited to cool climates. It produces a colourful, fruity wine with low acidity, more similar to Gamay than Gamaret, despite its low acidity. Area planted in 2002: 93 ha, area planted in 2005: 163.64 ha, constantly and rapidly increasing. It is grown on a small scale in Valais, Neuchâtel and the canton of Vaud. Cousin of Gamaret.
