Definition: Fardelet

Back
Cardboard packaging used to hold a batch of bottles. What is commonly referred to as a "pack" (a pack of beer, cartons, bottles, etc.) is known in the packaging industry as a fardelet. The origin is therefore a small bundle, based on the word "farde", which is still used in Belgium to refer to a cardboard sleeve or even a carton of cigarettes. The fardeleuse is a relentless packaging machine that wraps products by grouping them into batches, which is known as "mise en fardelet".
