Definition: DRC

A famous acronym in the world of fine wines, it stands for Domaine de la Romanée-Conti in Vosne-Romanée, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. It produces only grands crus. One white, Montrachet, and six reds: Romanée-Conti and La Tâche, which are the estate's monopoles, exclusive vineyards whose name "monopole" appears on the upper collar of the bottle; Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Echezeaux and Grands Echezeaux. This estate is the exception in Burgundy in that it has been authorised to bear the name of a specific vineyard. All DRC wines are renowned for their richness and longevity. They are snapped up by enthusiasts around the world at extravagant prices.
