Appellation from the Haute-Savoie region Production area near Lake Geneva, more precisely within the municipalities of Ballaison, Douvaine and Loisin in the Haute-Savoie department. Classified as an AOC in 1948. Area under production: just over 70 hectares. White grape variety: Chasselas. Vinified as a sparkling white wine only. It can be kept for 2 to 3 years, or even longer, depending on the vintage. Ideal serving temperature: between 8 and 10°C. Enjoy with river fish or stuffed morel mushrooms.
