Renaissance of an ancestral cultivation method. Based on the knowledge of ancient civilisations (Mayan, Inca), cosmoculture relies on the exchange between cosmic and telluric energies. In the field, cosmic energy accumulator beacons installed at specific points serve to promote this intimate relationship between heaven and earth and to recreate an environment in which vines can regain their natural defences.
Geobiology is the study of soil elements: telluric lines, underground waterways and faults that influence living things (plants, trees, animals and humans). Radionics uses the faculties of consciousness connected to physical devices (cosmic beacons) to achieve intercommunication between biological systems (soil, plants, vines and wine). This promotes exchanges between the forces of heaven and earth. Due to its composition (liquid crystal with three structures: tridymite, quartz and silica), it can record and transmit information in the spirit of biodynamic preparations, energise and act on different elements. In agriculture, it can be used as a useful aid in soil regeneration, optimising plants' natural defences, combating disease and optimising the health, energy and nutritional quality of fruit (grapes and vegetables). Cosmiculture is a natural farming method that combines the fundamental principles of organic and biodynamic farming.
It opens up new horizons based on forgotten ancestral principles: All these principles are applied at Domaine Viret, which is a pioneer in this field, using more conventional methods of viticulture and vineyard management (ploughing, natural grass cover, quality trellising, green harvesting, etc.). These methods combat the devitalising effect of today's traditional cultivation methods (use of weedkillers, pesticides, etc.).
Everything has been put in place to recreate a genuine biotope where the vines regain their natural defences and an effective immune system, in order to naturally combat the pathogens frequently encountered in viticulture. These techniques encourage the root system to grow deeper, which, with global warming, is becoming increasingly important as it makes the vines less sensitive to the more significant drought conditions on the surface.
The ultimate goal remains the quality of the raw material (the harvest). The grapes must be healthy and natural (grown using natural methods: those of the terroir) in order to implement a winemaking method in the cellar with as little intervention as possible and without the addition of oenological products, with the aim of offering an authentic, natural and lively wine that truly reflects the forgotten flavours of the terroir.
Here's what people are saying: "When I first met Philippe Viret, a winegrower in the Rhône Valley, he spoke to me passionately, not only about biodynamics, but also about cosmoculture. I thought to myself, 'This winegrower is crazy!'. Tasting his wines completely convinced me: they had another dimension, as if they came from somewhere else...". Discussing this particular approach, we asked Mr Alain Vire, Philippe's father, who is himself a dowser: "When you plant young vines, we notice that you don't protect them from damage by hares and other rodents?" To which he replied naively: "Here, the vines are surrounded by all kinds of plants that these rodents much prefer to our young vines! This is not the case in vineyards that are completely weed-free."
