Definition: Condrieu AOC

The most successful of all the AOCs in the Rhône Valley. It produces clear, golden whites, mostly dry, but which can be sweet in good years, when a late harvest allows them to evolve into the top tier of great white wines. Even when dry, they release an intoxicating bouquet of spring flowers, honeysuckle, violet, rose, peach and lime. The palate is fruity and very fragrant, offering a sensation of sweetness, even in the driest wines. See Château Grillet.
