Definition: Collerette

Part of the decoration above the label that adorns or surrounds the neck of the bottle. This additional decoration often specifies the vintage. Due to the extensive mechanisation of bottling lines, which requires simplification, the collar has become rare and the vintage is now also shown on the label.
