The Châteaumeillant vineyard is planted on siliceous soils that are predominantly sandy and sandy-clay. Classified as AOVDQS in 1965. Area under production: just over 100 hectares. The total area covered is 550 hectares. Grey grape varieties: Pinot; black grape varieties: Gamay and Pinot Noir. Produced as white, rosé and red wines. Maximum authorised yield of 45 hl/ha. Min./max. alcohol content, 9° to 12.5°. Best drunk young and chilled. Ideal serving temperature: between 8 and 10° for whites and rosés; between 15 and 16° for reds. Pair with: whites or rosés with grilled meats or charcuterie; reds with grilled or roasted red meat.
