Back Libournais region of Bordeaux. Production area located on the right bank of the Dordogne, north-west of Libourne, more precisely within the communes of Fronsac and Saint-Michel-de-Fronsac in the Gironde department. Classified as a communal AOC in 1964. Production area slightly over 300 hectares. Black grape varieties: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Côt (or Malbec) and Merlot. Produced as red wine only. It can be stored for several years to develop and up to 20 years for the best vintages. Ideal serving temperature: between 15 and 17°C. Enjoy with game birds or red meat, Bordelaise-style cep mushrooms, or Bordelaise-style lamprey.
