Back This vineyard in south-western France produces what was once known as "black wine" because Malbec gave it an almost inky colour. Thanks to the introduction of Merlot and Tannat, Cahors has regained some of its pre-phylloxera reputation. The red wines often have a deep blackcurrant colour. With developed fruit, they offer beautiful Bordeaux aromas and are silky on the palate with a lovely violet note on the finish. They contain 70% Malbec (Côt) and up to 30% Merlot and Tannat. Their ageing potential ranges from 3 to 12 years.
