Definition: biou

A ceremony offering the first fruits of the harvest to God in the form of a biou (a huge bunch of grapes), this ceremony is held every year on Saint Just's Day, patron saint of Arbois, as well as in other localities in the French Jura vineyards, at the start of the grape harvest.
