Definition: bidule

A piece used in the traditional method of sparkling wine production, such as champagne, a plastic cap that is inserted into the neck of the bottle under the crown cap, providing temporary closure during the entire period of secondary fermentation and maturation in the bottle before disgorging (synonym: cartridge).
