Back Indications of origin and pseudo-geographical names of German wine. Brands use atypical names of existing and well-known sites, modifying them to a greater or lesser extent. Customers may confuse the two or, in any case, may more or less unconsciously associate a certain lexeme with the meaning "prestigious wine". This should be the case for brands that contain the word Doktor and allude to the "most expensive" terroir of German wine, namely Bernkasteler Doktor, not to mention the fact that they suggest particular medicinal properties. In this case, it is the first TBA ever produced in the Moselle region, and this wine is one of the most prestigious sweet wines in Germany and the world. The Thanisch family, who produce it, have been growing vines in the village of Bernkastel-Kues since the mid-17th century.
