The Statutes of the Swiss Association of Independent Winegrowers and Winemakers

The Swiss Association of Independent Winegrowers and Winemakers aims to promote the quality and authenticity of Swiss wines.
The association considers "winegrowers" to be those who operate a vineyard, either as owners or tenants.
The association brings together independent winegrowers and winemakers who meet the following criteria:
The winegrower cultivates his vines and produces wine in his cellar.
They sell all or part of the harvest in bottles, under their own name, responsibility and label.
They do not purchase grapes or wine for resale. However, for the purposes of winemaking, they are entitled to the margins provided for by federal and cantonal legislation in force.
The winegrower-winemaker complies with the code of good oenological practices.
The following may also be admitted as members as winegrowers-winemakers:
- Family businesses comprising, for example, parents, children, brothers, sisters,
uncles, aunts, nephews or nieces.
- Two or more winegrowers who use shared premises, provided that they each handle
their own wine and sell their own wine.
- Public law corporations that meet the criteria set out above.
above.
Winemakers who meet these criteria are entitled to use the symbol of the Swiss Association of Independent Winemakers.
The Committee includes the presidents of the various main sections: Geneva, Lake Biel, Neuchâtel, German-speaking Switzerland, Ticino, Valais and Vaud.
Details of the 12 sections that make up the Swiss Association of Independent Winemakers, as well as many other details, can be found on the official website.
