Definition: accabailles

Back
In the Sauternes region, as in the south-west of France, the accabailles consist of celebrating the end of the harvest by organising a meal, bringing together all the grape pickers who worked on the vintage, as well as the estate's permanent staff. In other regions, this event has a different local name. See gerbebaude and paulée.
