Viticulture

Suduiraut has been owned by AXA-Millésimes since 1992. The vineyard extends over 92 hectares and represents a synthesis of the clay soils typical of Sauternes, known for their opulence, as well as plots of gravel that are more closely related to the subsoils of Barsac. At the Suduiraut vineyard, the culture is reasoned without chemicals or pesticides. The planting density is 7,000 vines per hectare. The average age of the vineyard is 25 years.

Oenology

The grapes are picked in successive selections over several weeks. The musts are harvested after slow pneumatic pressing, cold settling and then fermented in batches in oak barrels. Suduiraut is bottled after 18 to 24 months of ageing in 50% new oak barrels. The average yield of the property is about 10 to 14 hl/ha.
