Viticulture
The wines here have been famous since the 17th century. At that time, Vigneau was the name given to the vineyard, the château, the seigneury and the de Vigneau family, who were its first owners. The vineyard lies on a magnificent hilltop overlooking the Sauternes region. The vines are adjacent to Château d'Yquem and Sigalas-Rabaud. The soils are sandy gravel on a clay base. The vines are now 30 years old on average.
Oenology
The grapes are harvested in successive selections, and only perfectly botrytized grapes are picked. Sorting table, strict selection, delicate pressing and transfer to temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats. Each batch is vinified in oak barrels, 40-50% of which are renewed each year.
