Viticulture
Château Mazeyres is one of Pomerol's largest growths. The diversity of its terroirs contributes to the complexity of its wines. Manager: Alain Moueix. Area under vine: 25.57 ha. Average age: 30 years. Terroir of clayey gravel and clayey sand. Property certified organic and in biodynamic conversion since 2015 - Member of Biodyvin. Average yield: 38 hl/ha. Production. 50,000 to 70,000 bt.
Oenology
Hand-picked in crates. Meticulous sorting of the grapes on arrival at the vat room. Fermentation in temperature-controlled concrete or stainless steel vats, depending on the terroir, the age of the vines and the grape varieties. Extractions are gentle and slow, adapted to the potential of each vat. Ageing 30% in new barrels, 50% in one-wine barrels and 20% in 7-hl egg-shaped concrete vats.
