Viticulture

Located in the southwest of the Pauillac appellation, Château Haut-Batailley is now owned by the Cazes family (Château Lynch Bages, in Pauillac). It was purchased in March 2017 from the Brest-Borie family. Haut-Batailley's future looks bright, with dedicated management and team, high-performance technical equipment (renovated in 2004), and still its beautiful terroir of large, deep gravel on 22 hectares planted with old vines predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon (65%). Château Haut-Batailley also owns 19 hectares of land classified as AOC Pauillac, which has been resting for many years, and will be planted in 2019.

Oenology

The wines are aged in barrels for 14 months, with 60% new wood.
