Viticulture

Brokers from father to son, over the years the Libéral family has amassed a number of good parcels of deep gravel, the largest of which overlooks the Gironde estuary. Haut-Bages Libéral has a medium-sized vineyard, entirely replanted in the 1970s and divided into 3 distinct plots: 2 on the Bages plateau and the main one on a hillside adjacent to Château Latour on the Gironde estuary.

Oenology

Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with maceration lasting from 3 weeks to one month. After vatting, malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels (25%) and vats (75%). This is followed by 16 months of traditional ageing in oak barrels, 40% of which are renewed every year. Fining with egg whites precedes bottling at the château.
