Viticulture
This vast Médoc estate is adjacent to Châteaux Lagrange and Branaire-Ducru. The estate has belonged to the Merlaut family (Taillan Group) since 1997. It lies on a very homogenous subsoil of medium gravel on a marly base. The vineyard covers an area of 82 hectares. The vines are 45 years old and planted at a density of 10,000 vines/ha, with an average yield of around 44 hl/ha.
Oenology
Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts and the vatting period lasts between 21 and 35 days, punctuated by regular pumping over to extract the wine. The wine is then pressed in pneumatic presses. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrels (50%), followed by 18 months in barrels (50% new).
