Production area and municipality: Vittoria (RG), south-eastern Sicily. Organic cultivation. Altitude: 240-250 metres above sea level. Soil type: red earth, sub-Apennine sands, of Pliocene origin and calcareous in nature. Training system: Guyot, espalier. Planting density: 5,000 plants per hectare. Average age of the vines: 20 years.
Harvest period: end of September/October. Spontaneous fermentation on the skins with indigenous yeasts. Aged in Slavonian casks.
