Characteristics
The history of the House began in 1923 when the wine and spirits merchant, Alexandre Lecompte, decided to sell his business, with the exception of his stocks of old Calvados. Located near orchards producing the best apples in the region, the House is set up in a small farm in the heart of the Pays d'Auge. It now contains nearly 800 oak barrels in 8 cellars. It is located in Notre-Dame-de-Courson, in the Pays d'Auge.
Oenology
Calvados is produced in a delimited area in Normandy. It involves the distillation of cider, followed by blending and maturing exclusively in French oak barrels. Before slowly maturing in older barrels (known as fûts roux), this Calvados Pays d'Auge was first matured in small new oak barrels, the source of its delicate vanilla taste.
