Cavesa le CAVE, le club des amateurs de vins exquis

Bas Armagnac Folle Blanche, Boingnères, 49% - 2001

Aged in French oak casks, this splendid Armagnac has an explosive nose of vanilla, raisins, apricot, honey, flowers, cloves, aniseed, rose petal and café au lait. Still young and dashing, it is both powerful and refined on the palate, already presenting itself well and ready to evolve with time.

Characteristics

The estate is located in Le Frêche, in the heart of the Grand-bas-Armagnac, on tawny sands. Half of the vineyard is made up of Folle Blanche (11 ha), which produces very fine, elegant and bouqueted eaux de vie. A very difficult grape variety to grow, Folle Blanche is somewhat neglected and this makes it the special feature of the Boingnères estate.

Oenology

After fermentation, the wine is distilled and then stored in new barrels for two years. They are then transferred to older barrels that have removed most of their tannins.
