Characteristics
The Gravenstein is renowned as an excellent quality, juicy, noble and highly aromatic knife apple. Unfortunately, it is rarely grown these days due to its low yield and limited shelf life. The south-west of Styria offers ideal climatic conditions for our Gravensetein: alternating hot summer days and cooler nights are ideal for its aromatic development.
Oenology
Each apple remains on the tree until it is fully ripe. To ensure this, we harvest the rows in several passes and pick the apples one by one by hand, applying very strict selection criteria. Only the very best apples are made into must on the spot, on the day they are harvested.
