Vanille Bourbon de Madagascar, Spices & Vanilla (2 gousses)

Vanilla is the fruit of an orchid native to Mexico, naturally the fertilisation of the flowers is carried out by specialised bees. The three species of vanilla cultivated are the following: Vanilla Planifolia, Vanilla Tahitensis, Vanilla Pompona.

Madagascar est le premier producteur mondial de vanille. Sa production se concentre dans la région SAVA (Sambava, Antalaha, Vohémar, Andapa) au nord est de l’île. Elle se caractérise par des gousses fines et souples ou apparaissent parfois des marques ou scarifications. Celles-ci sont faites par les planteurs afin de marquer leur propriété et de se prémunir contre le vol.
