This is the "fruit" wine of this Thurgau estate, which is a precursor in many respects of integrated and rational farming in Switzerland. The nose has lovely kirsch notes, complemented by hints of sweet and warm spices. It whets the appetite before appreciating a frank, crisp and supple palate, immediate. A delicacy.

Viticulture

The Bachtobel estate, its cellars and its castle have been in the Johannes Meier family since 1784. The region has a long tradition of winegrowing, as evidenced by two wine presses dating from 1584 and 1729. Pinot noir is the main grape variety, accounting for 80% of the vines and producing 4 different wines. Here, there is a real concern for eco-responsible viticulture. For years, the estate has renounced the use of synthetic fertilisers and herbicides and has limited mechanical intervention.

Oenology

Vinified and matured mainly in small 800-litre tuns.

The soils are of a clay and sand nature with a limestone content close to that of Burgundy.
