The Van Volxem estate is located in Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, more precisely on the banks of the Saar in the village of Wiltingen. It was bought by the current owner, Roman Niewodniczanski, in 2000. Almost all the vines are located on schist and the harvest never starts before All Saints' Day. The vines are all between 30 and 60 years old. The Altenberg is a very steep schist slope. This parcel was acquired by the estate in 2003. First vintage produced: 2004.
