Montefalco rosso, Pomontino, Bellafonte - 2018

  • Provenance: Umbria
  • Appellation: Montefalco
  • Domain: Tenuta Bellafonte
  • Grape variety(ies): Sangiovese 80%, sagrantino 20%
  • On-call time: 10 years
  • Style of wine: Vin de grand terroir
  • Alcohol degree: 13%
This is Peter Heilbron's new red wine. But unlike the grand cuvée, Pomontino is a Montefalco rosso, which means that the sagrantino grape variety is joined by a significant proportion of sangiovese; and all vinified in whole bunches, as in Burgundy! The result is a very fragrant wine (red berries), elegant in its tannins, sapid, fleshy and very tasty! 3 Bicchieri Gambero Rosso
